PROMOTION TEST PREPARATION
testing for Green Belt with a Blue Stripe
Final decisions on testing readiness will be made by Masters Marr, Bayless, and Bayless-Marr. Forms will be handed out to those deemed ready starting two weeks before the scheduled test.
To be eligible to test for your Green Belt with a Blue Stripe, you must have completed a minimum of 30 classes before the test, and be able to confidently demonstrate:
Know the following etiquette rules and demonstrate them each time you come to class.
Know the meaning of the following Korean terms.
Cha-Ryut: attention
Do-Bok: Taekwon-do uniform
Kyung-Net: bow
Shi-Jak: begin
Do-Jang: Taekwon-do school
Joon-Bee: ready (stance)
Sah-Bum-Nim: Instructor
Kwan-Jang-Nim: Grandmaster
Bar-Row: return (to ready stance)
To be eligible to test for your Green Belt with a Blue Stripe, you must have completed a minimum of 30 classes before the test, and be able to confidently demonstrate:
- Won Hyo
- Bent knee ready stance
- Circular block
- Retention of all previous techniques and patterns
- Rear leg side-kick (board break)
Know the following etiquette rules and demonstrate them each time you come to class.
- Salute the flags upon entering and leaving the mat.
- If you come late to class, kneel at the edge of the mat and wait for permission to enter.
- If your belt comes untied or your uniform needs fixing during class, turn your back to the flags and quickly fix it.
- If you must leave the mat during class, ask the instructor for permission, salute the flags upon leaving the mat, and kneel at the edge for permission to re-enter.
- When given instruction or correction by the instructor, respond “Yes, Sir/Ma’am.”
