Tai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese martial art, often practiced now as a gentle form of exercise and moving meditation. Tai Chi Chuan is low-impact and non-competitive, with the simple goal of relaxing your body through continuous movement and releasing your mind from distractions.
This is a beginning level class for adults and teens. Through the Yang-style form 8 (aka 10), the class will focus on muscle control, core strength, and purposeful breathing.

Location: Classes will be taught in-person in our dojang at 16720 Chagrin Boulevard, Shaker Heights. The school is just east of Lee Road, across from Heinens, and the entrance is off the parking lot in the back.
Zoom option: All classes will be live-streamed on Zoom. A link will be sent to all registrants. Tuition: $150 for the ten-week session. Apparel: No uniform is required. Wear what is comfortable for you and does not restrict movement. Shoes are optional, but shoes worn on the dojang mat must be reserved for indoor wear only. Questions? Elaine Bayless, a 5th Degree Black Belt in Taekwon-do, studied ballet, modern, and ballroom dance for 20 years before starting her martial arts training. She now draws on all these art forms in her latest passion, Tai Chi Chuan. She continues her Tai Chi Chuan training privately with Y Chan, a nationally-recognized instructor and competitive judge.
